FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Founded in 1992 for the purpose of providing a Christ-centered education to families in Hong Kong, ICS is continuing its mission by striving to serve a greater number of families through the new Foundation Scholars Program.
The ICS Foundation Scholars Program exists to support the children of Gospel workers in Hong Kong by providing financial aid and supportive services that ensure their academic success. This is done through offering intensive EAL (English as an Additional Language) courses designed to advance academic English language proficiency, covering tuition costs as necessary, and creating a unique, advantageous pathway to universities in the United Kingdom.
We are very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to families in Hong Kong. Please read our Terms of Eligibility to learn more.

A Pathway to Universities in the United Kingdom
As an American curriculum school offering 24 Advanced Placement (AP) courses to students preparing for tertiary education, ICS knows what is necessary for academic success. Our dedicated University Advisors provide regular, individualized guidance to students looking to further their education. However, to students looking to continue their education in the United Kingdom, we offer an advantageous pathway for English language learners (ELLs).
Because participants in the ICS Foundation Scholars Program would benefit from intensive EAL support, they stand to benefit most from choosing to study in the UK, and it is because we are an American curriculum school. While IB and British curriculum schools also offer avenues to study in the UK, an American curriculum provides a gentler path to fulfilling UK university requirements. For example, most Russell Group universities accept students from US curriculum schools with 3 APs (score of 5) and an IELTS score of 6.0-6.5 - requirements which are generally more attainable than those of alternative curriculum schools. We also offer an IELTS prep course to ensure that all ICS students meet minimum English proficiency requirements. It is for these reasons that participants in the ICS Foundation Scholars Program - and any child at ICS - have a marked advantage in pursuing a university education from a UK school.
