BRIDGES PROGRAM

Missions of the Bridges Program

Provide instruction to students who have significant diverse learning needs that require the application of an alternative curriculum, to include them into typical school and community activities, and to prepare them for developmentally appropriate independence.

Curriculum

The Bridges Program is an alternative program focused upon five main areas: (1) Functional Academics, (2) Communication, (3) Socialization, (4) the Application of Biblical Principles, and (5) Life and Work Skills Training.

Individualized Education Plan Goals

Each student has an IEP that is developed after an evaluation of his or her educational abilities and practical needs.

ASDAN curriculum

A UK-based curriculum that provides a range of courses that grow skills for learning, employment, and life.

On-site pre-vocational training to learn about the workplace and practice various work skills on campus, e.g., Library, cafeteria, and Human Resources Office.

Students are included into classes and activities (Facegroup, Tribe, specialty classes, overnight camps, service trips) wherever appropriate.

Application Profile

Standard scores ranging from 55-69 in identified areas of development • Developmentally appropriate and independent behavior management skills to allow inclusion into ICS activities.
